Hello, club,
about to go bring my R2 home from it's second owner. It's pretty clean R2 with 46K miles. Dealer installed an aftermarket sun roof, otherwise it's stock. Completely, totally stock. I plan to keep it as close to stock as possible, as I am not interested in racing, track days, or DDing it, I have other vehicles for those purposes. I bought it because the FD has captivated me since I first saw one, and I can finally (I think) afford one. It needs a new chin spoiler and has original belts (!) so those will be priorities.
roof is dealer installed aftermarket
I have an old NASA spec Neon RT with a bolt in cage. It's quick, light, cheap... hasn't moved in a while, it's a long drive to tracks in the area and I burned out on auto-X. I'm also considering an offer to take a nicely built 5.0 fox body LX notchback from a friend's widow, it's been built for road/track use.

There you go, there is something to be said about having a car you can take to 10/10ths of its ability and not give a crap what happens to it (former abusive mini cooper owner). I'm happy NCM MSP opened up, its only 2.5 hours of towing away from me, otherwise it is 4 hours to mid ohio, 3.5 to putnam park, and 7 hours between me and getting to drive VIR (still haven't climbed that mountain yet).
Sorry to hear about your friend.
The fox body mustangs have one of the best aftermarket supports of any platform. 99% of the ones around me are built for the 1/4 mile, but every once in a blue moon I'll see one with only chassis and suspension mods.
