Just picked up a 79 FB to restore
My name is David, and I just picked up a 1979 RX-7 rolling chassis for the rock-bottom price of $250.
The body is straight, with minor rust in the usual areas (rear fender wells, hatch surround, etc.). That will be easily resolved with a plasma torch and a MIG welder. As I mentioned... no engine, yet. Plans are to go non-rotary: Ford crate V8. Can't beat the power/weight ratio.
Now, you may be saying, "But David, why not go rotary turbo is you're looking for more power?" Because I already have a turboed Mazda (2010 Mazdaspeed 3) that is moderately modified (Cobb AccessPort, downpipe, FMIC, intake, suspension stuff, yadda yadda yadda) and I want something different. I want something that is completely mine and unique.
Sooo, that's me.
