Just got my dream car - Connecticut

Hello everyone!
My name is Ryan and I live near Hartford, Connecticut. I just recently got an all-stock '93 Rx-7 FD. I got it with only 43.5k miles on it and it's in excellent condition. There are a few very minor issues, but nothing mechanical thankfully. I actually made initial contact with the seller through eBay, though I never thought I'd go there to buy a car. I am pleased to report everything went smoothly, mostly due to the professionalism I. The seller. I have a few minor plans or what to do with the car in the future, and have been scrounging through this site for guides and advice. Thought I would stop lurking and make a post of my own. Here are some pictures of the new car. Hope you enjoy.

Where in CT are you. I live right near Greenwich and have been hoping to link up with a fellow FD owner.

great buy... take care of it and it will love you back on most days. do the reliabilty mods, get rid of that hideous 93 bumper for something that houses 99 style lights and call it a day.

the fd in black is beautiful sight.

Hello again. Back with more pictures. Unfortunately, I live up near Hartford. I will be here for about another month and then my family is moving to Virginia. If you're in the area give me a PM and I'd love to meet you. For right now, my plans are minor. I'm going to fix the small issues the at came with. The lid on the drivers door pocket broke (a $5 part), the glove box is loose so the light is always on, one of the exhaust tips corroded off (I hear NAPA sells bolt-on tips, I'll have too give it a look), and soon I'll be changing the audio head unit (getting a single-DIN unit and a tray to replace the stock units) and linearizing the temp gauge with a friend. I got an estimate to fix the small dent on the wheel well and that was about $850, which I don't have to throw away right now, so I'll live with it. For shorter term, I think I'll get an R1 front spoiler and rear wing (since mines a touring, it doesn't have it) because it's subtle yet stylish, though I do want to eventually replace the entire front bumper because it's slightly misshapen due to a minor accident the previous owner was in. Too subtle to take a photograph of. A 99 spec bumper was definitely on my mind. Also, there are a few pictures of it after a good wash, rinse, and dry yesterday. I'll be out of state for the next week, so waxing will have to wait until after, but IMO it's looking very nice.

P.S. Forgot to talk about engine pic. It's there. Entirely stock so not too exciting, but still quite pretty. I will certainly do the reliability mods. I haven't done much working on cars myself and I do want to put the mods in myself so I'm gonna take the time to learn them and do them right. I don't drive he car hard enough that I'm at risk of destroying it, so I'll get to it when I have the opportunity.

i would suggest getting a water temp and boost gauge with a peak/recall function. doing the linear mod to stock water temp is a great thing to do but to better monitor water temps, an aftermarket gauge would be your best friend. the boost gauge is a good investment as well, keeping an eye on your boost levels with the stock twins would be a good thing to do.

you seem to be on the correct path and your head seems to be in right place. good luck with your dream car, just dont go crazy and remember that street racing is not a cool thing to do...

Yes I also had plans for a boost gauge on one of those pillar mounts. Forgot to mention it though. I'm going to try the linearization and see how it goes. If it seems to be performing well, I'll leave it. There is a great chance we will botch it though, which will then force me to buy a new cluster. But this is my first sports car to drive on a regular basis, so I'm still getting used to the great increases in power and cornering ability it provides over my old car. I'm no Schumacher in it just yet ;D

Best of luck buying your FD! I got lucky that this was one of the first I looked at. Don't be too anxious and buy the first decent one you find. You have the right to be picky. Hope you find a good one.

To both justinweber and bluedevilee04, thank you, and I wish you luck in finding your own I was certainly very lucky finding this one. They're only getting rarer as well.

To invinciblejets. I'm actually originally from Indiana, but have live in CT the past decade. I'm moving away soon and I actually like Indiana a lot better there are a few things I'll miss about CT, but I'm mostly glad to be leaving it behind.

To JoeHuffy. Thanks! And good luck with getting your own!

Pretty car. I dig the roof. I've never noticed one of those on an FD before.

The sunroof? I think it looks silly but absolutely love driving with it open. My friends and I joke that it doubles as a spoiler as well.
