Just Bought my First RX-7 CYM FD3S R1

Well finally figured out the funny rattle up front. My valve stem was broken after mounting the new tires and the back was rattling around. Dropped that off this morning.
Got some great advice in another thread on how to plan out my upgrades and manage my heat issues and am looking to get some help installing my Power FC soon.
Hope to be able to AutoX her later this summer if I can ensure the heat won't kill her. I've really been eyeing a CF hood.

So, yesterday I was stranded while getting gas for 30 irritating minutes. She wouldn't start and I thought it was heat related. Ended up just being the grommet over the clutch switch had crumbled and fell to the floor mat.
I reached down and pushed in the pin while turning the key and she started. Then at my buddies house I tried to leave only to hear click click click click. I think I drained the battery attempting to start so many times early. If I'm not mistaken, when turning the ignition on it charges the coils?
Anyway, I don't know the age of the battery, so I might as well replace it so I don't get stuck again.

Thanks, no start was really simple. The rubber grommet on the clutch had crumbled and didn't engage the clutch switch. After a few days of reaching down to engage, I finally jumpered it. I was getting to many stares.
Going to take her to an autox this weekend as the miata is out needing a clutch and brakes. I'm a little nervous about all the heat soak, but it's time to drive her the way she was meant to be.

Hey guys im new on this site aswell. I baught my first running fc and i love it. Not to many people know what their doing with roterys in kelowna but ive found a few so i got somone to play cars with. Im planing to turn my car into a drifter and need advise on wether to boost it or stay na. I have a 89 gxl and its a 6 port and ive read that theirs problems with boosting them because of the higher compretion. My friend has a complete 88 turbo two setup for me and i want to run it but i dont want to kill the moter. Should i be swaping in a four port or a cosmo in it or can i stick with the stock moter???? Id really like to know and learn more about it. I love my car its like a dream come true. I havent done much too it. Ive put a cold air filter on it and cut the coils down to have a nicer stance and changed the steering wheel other then that its stock. Shoot me some advise id love to hear some and im stooked to be apart of this comunity.

I just got a RX7 CYM R1 as well!
Flying solo, I actually had the exact same issue with the clutch pedal sensor. I ended up using a #6 1 bolt and nut to fill that hole. Worked great.
Probably going to be taking mine out to autox this weekend as well... so long as the battery tie down arrives in time!
