Check with Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda. His prices 'may' be better. Or, try placing a "Want to buy" ad on this board for those bushings. Someone may have some laying around that they intended to install but never got around to it and are willing to sell. Could save you some cash. Just a thought...

IMO the stockers provide the best compromise between ride quality and firmness.

Thanks for all the congrats guys. I love this car. I will never buy a car from the North again. I started tearing apart my rear suspension.

A. The suspension in these things is incredible. Really cool!
B. Every bolt has come off with ease. I haven't needed to swear once! Looks like I need Lower Outer Control Arm Bushings and Upper Outer Bushings. Everything else looks Kosher.

The poor miata won't last long in the garage. I can see it in his eyes. He knows, the FD now rules the garage.

So, for the other n00bs out there like me. Ray Crowe at Malloy is the man. Just got my pillow ball bushing kit ordered and saving me some good going versus buying individually from other vendors.

He also owns an FD himself. Call and ask for him or RX7Club.

Thanks! She needs a paint job pretty bad, the hood is all chipped. I was going to turbo it, before I found the FD.

Tomorrow I'm putting on some new Hankook RS3s.

Then a little suspension work and alignment and she is ready for some fun! I have a lot of detailing in the engine bay todo as soon as it gets warm.
Are you getting the Hankook in the stock size? I looked at a set and would love to hear how you liked/disliked them.

Ray is king on OEM parts

@NVMYRX-7

101,000 miles. Single owner babied it's entire life. It is still on it's original Apex seals! Motor will obviously be rebuilt this winter.

Because I have enough money to spend in just refreshing her, I will stick with the OEM rims. I could only get the 225/ZR50-R16s (OEM) size RS3s. It will make due till I finish all the mechanical stuff and can move on to looks/new paint. I have used Direzzas and R1Rs on my miata and loved them. The RS3s are supposed to be even better and highly praised as well as $50 cheaper a tire. I'll let you know how they do!

Removed my rear end last night and pressed out all my pillow *****. It was a piece of cake! The hardest part was getting the C-Clips out. Being all aluminum pieces it was easy to use my Harbor Freight 3 in 1 Balljoint removal tool to press them out. Each Pillow Ball took less then 30 seconds with the impact gun.

I have new TCS End Link and Horizontal Traction bars to install with the pillow bushings as well. The rear end is beautiful on this car. I could lay under her looking up her skirt for hours :P Hopefully my new bushings arrive tomorrow and I can have her back on the road by Thursday. I also scored a used Racingbeat exhaust from another forum member I will install this week.

Can I reuse the gasket when installing a new catback and or down pipe or should I order new?

So, funny thing about pillow *****. When you press them in and do it wrong, you break them. I installed 5 out of my 6. I have a replacement on the way from Ray.

Since I couldn't finish the suspension, I installed my new to me Racing Beat exhaust (Thank you Jodeny, it's in like new condition!)

I also picked up a Downpipe, MidePipe, Y-Pipe. After they arrive, I'll send them off for Jet Hot coating. Looks like the Rex will be down for another two weeks. I still need to pick up a Cold Air Intake solution and then I'll slap it together and drive it for the summer.

DO NOT put the midpipe on unless you want to start a new thread titled "no power/low compression/need rebuild" . You should keep your main cat installed and do some research before making ANY mods!!!!!!!
