NY I've been lurking a while.

Howdy! I've been lurking and grabbing tech help on my '90 Vert FC-5, which has been pretty solid, though I don't drive it much. I bought it in the Spring of 2015, it Had 61K miles on it... now it has just shy of 63K so that should tell ya a bit about how much it gets used. I would have used it more, but the car won't pass Safety inspections when the High Beams won't work, and that was most of the time. Replacement Body CPUs lasted from a month to two, then it would need to be replaced for the next year, which usually was the end of summer when I had the time, so yeah... severely limited use of this car.

I've finally created a work-around for the bad CPU, so that will never prevent it from being inspected again, so I'll be driving it a month or so until it's time to put her away for the winter, then next year it will get a lot more use. Anyway, I've enjoyed lurking and probably won't post much unless something weird pops up, but I figured it's about time to say hello!

I live near Rochester NY, so if there's any others around here feel free to say HI!

New here also, checking in from around Newburgh Ny! Hopefully your winter up there isn't as bad as last years was so you can get to the car early

I knew a guy that built about 1/2 the homes in Newburgh, plus I've done some business with the OCC guys in the past... Newburgh is a cool town! Winter is relentless in these parts, and it looks like it's coming way too soon this year... we should have snow by the weekend. Last year it came late, so we were buried in the stuff... when it comes early, it's usually a sign of a mild, but sadly, way too long winter. The bikes are all tucked away, the FC5 is actually getting inspected this week, for the first time legally since I got it and then it's heading into storage for the winter. I'm getting it inspected so I don't have to wait in the spring to get it done. I'm hitching the snow-blower to the tractor this weekend. The curse of Western NY will arrive soon!

They can be as fun as they are aggravating! These cars are really quirky, challenging and unlike any other driving experience on the planet.
