Hello, I'm very new here, contemplating about buying a FD though I have rather severe budget issues (below a thousand with current amount being essentially nil lol). Wondering if a junkyard find or rolling chassis would work, restoration and modifications can come later as long as I can snowball my cash and buy them over time.
Welcome to the forum!
Not being mean but with that budget you are going to have a miserable time with an FD, there are regular consumables on a good car that will eat your $1,000..........
I strongly suggest either waiting and saving a bit more (read a lot more!), or look at getting into rotaries via an FB. You will have lots of cheap fun that way. There are lots of running FB's that you can use to improve your mechanical skills and enjoy driving while you save for the FD.

Probably a lot easier to save a few bucks and buy a driver that's already sorted out.
Remember there aren't too many people that know how to work on a rotary and the ones that DO know what they're doing usually charge an arm and a baby's leg to even pop the hood.
