An Introduction
Hello!
A couple days ago, after quite a while spent longing, I picked up a new-to-me 85! Lots of miles but runs pretty well other than needing some carb work (more on that later).
This is my first rotary and my first Mazda - I can rebuild an old GM A-body with one eye closed but most of what's going on here is new to me, so I look forward to lots of new learning. I've already encountered my first 'challenge' when nowhere locally had any #40 key blanks to get some spare keys cut this morning
As for me, I'm an engineer living in NE Ohio and (probably unhealthily) addicted to cars. I use the same screen name across several platforms and other forums, so if by some chance my name looks familiar... it's probably the same me. You can call me Matt, though.
So anyway, it's good to be here and I look forward to getting a handful of issues squared away and racking up some miles!

Thanks! 179k as of when I got it home on Friday. No records other than what the previous owner told me he did in the short time he had it, so there's no guarantee it's the original 12A but there's no real sign it's been replaced or rebuilt, either.

Cool! Have to look for you this Spring. They have a nice Cars and Coffee show at Summit Racing that I always go to as well as Superfly which is held at a downtown parking deck. At the year end show last year, we managed to get all three generations together for a photo.

For sure! This summer/fall was pretty crazy for me and I didn't even make it to any shows. I'll definitely be trying to make it to C&C this year (I feel like I'm at summit every summer's weekend for one reason or another!) - I'll keep an eye out for you and your SA!
