introducing myself
Evening all,
Just registered and would like to introduce myself.
I'm in the early stages of bringing my '84 SE back to life. It has 114,000 km on the odometer and the body pretty much looks the same as it did when I bought it in '84.
I've been too busy the last few years to drive it and so it has remained untouched in my driveway (and my underground garage before that).
Funny thing is it started immediately after all this time (that's a good thing especially as it has locked up on me before - in the early days !).
I've just refinished rebuilding the engine on my '83 KZ 440 and then bobbing / chopping it. You could say I'm on something of a role and I expect to spend the next year or so working on the RX7.
Not sure as yet what's going to need to be done, I'm planning for the worst but this car has surprised me more than pleasantly and on more than one occasion so time will tell. The fact that I was able to start it is definitely a good thing.
Gas tank may be rusted out :-( (there's a patch of external rust on it) I need to take it off and inspect it.
Anyways, I expect I'll be on this forum a good deal as time goes by and look forward to reading your numerous posts and getting advice on all kinds of issues.

Thanks guys.
It's easy enough to do. Just wait for time to take its toll (I'm 60 !!!) and hold on to your stuff (and take care of it like you care) and presto 27 years later you're the proud owner of something that looks pretty much the way it did when you first got it. And all of a sudden you're thinking "This is cool!" and so it is.
I could post some pics some time but not much to show except a charcoal gray body in almost pristine condition. Same goes for the interior. The only thing that is a real looker is the engine compartment. Cuz' it's as clean as the outside and you don't see that too often!
