I'm new, and i have a question
So I'm kind of new, post wise. I have been on here reading stuff for a long time and it's been very helpful. I used the info to rebuild the carb on my 1984 rx7, and to remove the rats nest with the very in depth guide. Unfortunately, i would like a new carburetor. I know a lot of people like the 48 ida and the dcoe, and some holleys. is there a carburetor that i can throw on the stock intake manifold (possibly with an adapter)? I'm not expecting a huge boost in power but the poor nikki that's on there was very neglected before i got a hold of the car. I just want to get it back on the road. Thanks guys

HI in most cases your better off to just clean and service your old carb, but if you must you can use a small 500 cfm 4 barrel Holly carb , but then you have issues with linkage and air cleaners, as well as an adapter check Racing Beat for info on carbs before you jump in.......Fred

Thanks man, that is helpful. Yeah I'm still trying to get the nikki operational. It was disgusting when i rebuilt it but i got it nice and clean and rebuilt. It's just so old and I think someone did a bad job of rebuilding before I did. Also I'm still trying to make sure I got rid of the damn vacuum leak, but it's really cold an my two month old battery died. As of tomorrow I'm gonna start her up and check for any more leaks and tinker with the carb.
