I bought an FC!

Hi everybody,

I just purchased a new (to me lol) ‘91 RHD FC GT-X with about 50,000 miles that I’m picking up tomorrow morning after test driving it today. It’s all stock, save for a cat delete/test pipe, so I’ll be starting with a clean slate for a fun weekend car. I'll try and upload pics soon.

What kind of preventive maintenance should I focus on first? The only issue I know about right now is that I have to tap the gas when cold starting. I’ve seen other posts mention replacing hoses, OMP lines, fuel dampeners, etc.

Thanks!

Most of my 2nd gens seemed to like 1/2+ throttle on startup until they catch.

I can tell you that buying a 2nd gen led me down a road that was very rewarding and has been a fantastic journey. Don't overthink things, just go enjoy the car.

Welcome to the forum. Today's been a real doozy, so seeing your post was such a refresher! I recently bought an FC around 3 months ago and it's been such a great experience. It's got just over 45k on the dash, bone stock and so far the only repair I've had to do was the alternator (funny story, but it's actually running a 1.6 miata alternator currently). Other than that, coils, plugs, coolant, engine oil, and a nice detail has really brought a new appreciation for cars like this. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine

This was taken maybe a week after I bought her. Very photogenic car
