HOWDY!!! new rotor friend!
my name is kevin...
i am a 3 year member of "s2ki.com". please refer to there for a good reference!
i own a 2005 silverstone s2000(has an FD 4.4final drive!)
an 87 BMW 535i, full Dinan package/etc
a 92 civic (daily...)
a 93 honda nighthawk(cb750)kills LA traffic.
and finally...
been slowly building a 1983 chassis rx7
i just built a 1980 engine and got it running.
very proud of this, it being my first engine build.
i figure, i have no idea how to rebuild a piston engine so why bother learning something everyone seems to know!
it has been an adventure..
i have always been fascinated by the rotary conceptually, and had been waiting for the right timing and opportunity to go ma scientist with it...
i bought the car in February from my neighbor for $300. the motor ran, but smoked terribly. interior is just about perfect.
the chassis has 250k(aaaaahhh!!!!)
slowly i have been bringing it up to speed. the only thing i have needed help with was setting the initial timing after the rebuild
luckily, "mariah motorsports" is local to me, and they helped me out. i had the pulley with the timing marks spun 90 degrees...(shhhh. it was my first try!)
after fixing the pulley position everything started to make a little more sense.
more to come!
cheers,
-----K.
