My name is Kylan, and I've got a 1985 FB. I've been on here for a while, just never posted anything or created an account till now!

Welcome to the forum! Also would love to see pictures of your 7! What trim level is it and does the car currently run and drive?

I'm 99% sure its a GS, got a strong 12a with 91k miles on it. It's a slightly recent purchase, and I've been daily driving it.

Your car looks to be in amazing condition!! Very nice! Hard to tell from the pictures but I think you have an S model. I don't see power mirrors which means its an S. Best thing about the S is that its the lightest of the group and the most desirable when considering adding some performance parts! When I bought my 04 RX-8, I bought a base model 6spd car simply because it was the lightest version and I liked the simplicity. I bought the highest trim level as well and I prefer the base car to my GT.

It is in pretty great shape. It also used to be a SCCA club racer, and I've got the log book if where all it raced from 2001 to 2015! I've got GS badges, but I wasn't super sure if it was from a donor car or not.

An S will have no light in the rear hatch, no dead pedal, no power mirrors, no power hatch release, no windshield sun shade (if the glass is original), no ignition key illumination, no map light on the dome light assembly, no light on the driver's door key cylinder, no halogen headlights (if they're original) and no glove box light.

Basically the GS adds all of the above. Sunroof was not available on the GS in 85 but was in 84. Not sure why Mazda changed it.. either way, you have an awesome car!!
