hi from San Diego

hey folks,

my dad and I are former rotary owners to get back into things.

my very first car was an ‘87 FC, a hand-me-down from dad. it then became my younger brother’s first car, and eventually we donated it to charity at 190k miles. mom cried when the tow truck pulled away.

I bought an FD as a college graduation present to myself, twenty years ago now. red over tan, beautiful little car. blew an apex seal, rebuilt the motor and sold it. regretted it ever since.

dad and I went on to each get 350Zs, and then I moved on to a WRX hatchback when I had kids of my own. dad still has his Z. I guess we’re kind of one-car-per-decade guys.

anyway, now that I’m older and have the garage space and the funds for a less practical car, it’s time to jump in. please pass along any cars that are potentially available— need to run and drive and pass CA smog.

hello!
Matt

Welcome to the forum!! What generation are you looking for in particular? I've been down the same road in that I've sold some RX-7's over the years and have come to regret selling them. With that said, I wish you the best of luck in your search for the perfect RX-7!!

Good luck with the FD search…I’d suggest just finding one and then worry about smog as you can get it to pass. The FD is get harder and harder to find and the price keeps going up. Keep looking on the marketplace on the forum, FB, eBay…
