Hi! I'm new from WI
Hi im Johnny and im from wisconsin, I was looking into buying an FD but I just like to research before I buy anything. Even fishing poles lol. I always wanted an FD but could never afford one, still cant by the way. But as luck has it, there is an FD near me available for financing from a used dealership, now that, I can afford. My only problem is after car payments and all the goodies, I'm unsure if I can afford to keep up with the maintenance, since that seems to be a big contraversial issue. I mean, its not going to be my daily driver, I have an ultra reliable civic for that, but if it means putting out an extra $500 every month just for maintenance I don't think Im willing to do that. I know reliabillity mods help, which is the first thing on my to do list, but after that, im hoping not to spend more then 3k a year on maintenance. I know theres tons of noob threads about maintenance, but after reliabillity mods, how often do you guys/girls have to replace something? And how major is the problem?(talking about price wise, if any little thing goes wrong, the beast isnt going to be droven til I can fix it.)

Hello, Johnny, thanks for taking the time to register and welcome to RX-7 Club. I've read more than a couple of times that you really should not finance a used RX-7 unless you also have a big bank account for the maintenance issues that will arise and also for when the "go faster" bug finally bites.
The FD is not a sportscar for the masses, it's for those with a good amount of change in their pocket.
That said, hit the New Member tech boards and then input "3rdgen maintenance" or "3rd Gen maintenance" to get a better picture of what you're thinking about.
