Hi my name is Marty. I just bought a 1980 SA22 for 350 dollars. It needs a lot of work. I bought it because my 1989 MR2 broke down so I bought a second car. I blow a hole in a piston in the MR2 at an autocross event. The RX7 is going to be my daily drive.

 

You are certainly a brave soul. You don't see the SA cars much anymore and to pick one up for a mere $350 tells me that either the body is beat to hell or the engine is on its last legs. What's the story on picking it up...?

And oh, thanks for registering and welcome to RX-7 Club ! I've got two FB's myself right now, an '84 and an '83. I used to have a 1980 RX-7 S, which I loved dearly until a big old Cadillac destroyed it one rainy morning.

The body it rusting out. the engine runs great. the seats, door panels, and dash needs replacing. The ignition lock is busted out some gauges are not working. Rear quarter panels, rocker panel, and hood needs replacing.there is no leaks anywhere. It was sitting for 1 1/2 to 2 years.

 

this maybe your first rotary but it wont be your last!

 

I know this will not be my last I want a fc and a fd like my MR2 I'm starting with the 1st gen
