Hi all, new SA22C owner from down under checking in...
Well I suppose it's time I stopped lurking for all of 10 minutes to introduce myself and the car
the name's Ed and I hail from Auckland, New Zealand. currently I own a small fleet of 1980s turbo vehicles including my latest acquisition - a 1985 Mazda Savanna RX-7 GT turbo SA22C (affectionately known as the "banana"), which I privately imported from Japan in September of this year. i'm personally new to rotary ownership, but have some knowledge of them thanks to friends who have owned various rotary-powered vehicles over the years, and I'm also no stranger to Mazdas due to owning a succession of piston turbo Familias and Lasers when I was younger
in addition to the SA22C I also currently have two DR30 Nissan Skylines and a BFMRF Ford Laser 4WD turbo.
anyway, enough guff about me; here are some photos of the SA22C. It's a 2+2, completely mechanically standard with 88,000km on the clock, and is powered by the venerable 12A EGI turbo. If all goes well the car should be road-registered early next year (barring some technicalities which I'll save for another thread)
complete flickr set can be found
/.
cheers for reading
