Hi All, Memeber from Australia

Hi All,
been trolling this forum for a little while, found it to be very helpful with alot of experienced member's, Thought I should sign up and say g'day bloke's and shiela's throw another shrimp on the barbie mate aye!

A little about me, I've been into cars since I was but a wee sparkle in my fathers eye. I raced karts for 11 years from the age of 9, I did reasonably well but was certainly no Ayrton Senna, Got pretty heavy into drugs and alcohol for a year or so but realized pretty quickly that it was doing me more harm than good, Cleaned my act up and got back into motorsport, albiet only on a club level, but still love it.

I saw my first RX-7 in a motoring magazine way back in '92, After reading the article (about 500 times lol) I knew eventually I would own one of them, Question was how and when. Now, Finally after all the years of dreaming and drooling over other people's car, I finally have my own. I was kind of expecting the car to not live up to my expectations as I had pretty much put the FD on a pedestal in my mind, But I'm pleased to say it's met all my expectations and then some, Think I will own this thing for a long time to come

A little about the car, It came off the boat from J-Land as you can see in the pic's in my album, I have only fitted the AST, Surge tank and a new set of tyres and a good detail every week I'm home.

Specs:
2002 Spirit-R Type A
36000 Kilometres
Bride EXAS III seats
C-West Front Bumper
Damd Side Skirts
Work Emotion CR-Kai's with Advan Neova AD07's
Ganador Mirror's
Greddy Pods - Returning to stock airbox shortly
RE-Amemiya AST
FEED In-Tank Swirl Pot
ADDzest Touch screen 7" LCD that doesn't work in Aus haha
Razo Gearknob

Unsure why the previous owner in J-Land modified it but I assume he nearly made his money back on the original purchase price, I am in 2 minds currently, I am thinking on one hand that I should return it to it's former glory, On the other hand I may just keep going where the previous owner left off, As it seems quite a few people are preserving their Spirit-R's anyway, Big decisions to make either way.

Cheers
Aaron

I just read your post. To my opinion you should restore the car to its original state because this way it'll become a lot more valuable. However, parts especially Recaro seats are really expensive and pretty hard to find here. You have no idea how many times I've been asked for those... Anyway I'd be glad to help.

If however you decide to keep it the way it is, well just enjoy driving the car. Spirit R bases are the same as other kouki models except for cosmetics (red floor carpet, recaro, etc...) and with a shorter final gear. Otherwise it's no different to other kouki gata FD3S.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you need info.
