FL hi

um, hi guys I'm Rajiv. i live in Florida, was born in Trinidad. i started liking cars since i was about 4, but only Lamborghini's and whatnot. i realized there was a little something called tuning that could make a real big difference in a normal car. i also discovered insurance, so supercars weren't really my thing anymore. i started liking normal-ish cars like mr2's and 240sx's mostly because they were RWD and Japanese. i saw an rx7 one day and i'm like that is a damn good looking car! so i pulled a google and when i heard of a rotary I'm like what the hell? what is this? so i started learning about rotaries from my dad and uncles. one of my uncles has a friend that lives in Canada and has a shop that specializes in rotary engines. so i learned a little bit, much more than most other 14-year-olds. so this is me, and i am gonna get an rx7 Fc this year or next year. what i want to do is to build it up, like take out sound deadening, have someone port the engine and that sort of thing. have something like a street legal car i can take out on the weekends with my buddies, so i came here to soak up all the info i can so that me and 4 other people will have no super serious issues while we are rebuilding my car (we all made a deal we'll help each other)so yeah. thanks for all the information on everything and i look forward to greater knowledge in the world of rotary.

Welcome to the forum.

Some constructive criticism - If you want people to actually read your future threads - Use paragraphs!! My eyes hurt from trying to read what you wrote.

i'll keep that in mind, gracer.
You right funkjaw, although my mom is totally against the idea, and says she'll buy me a 300zx(heavy, not such a great engine from what i read) or a 350z(HEAVY!!!! and no turbo=[...)

Also i have a question. In all of the things i read i only see certain engine swaps in certain generations of rx7's. I see LS1 and 20b engine swaps in Fc's and the RB series engines and 4 rotor engines in Fd's. is there any reason for this other than personal preference or is it something like clearance issues in the engine bay?

You can put any motor into any car if time and money is abundant. LS1 FDs are so common its stupid.
