Hey y'all! New to the rotary scene
Hey guys!
My son and I are new to the rotary world and have found these forums incredibly helpful. We live in Sarasota Fl and just recently towed an FC down from Oregon this past winter. My son (16) saved up his first few months of pay to purchase this car and now that we have it - it's been a blast working on.
Within the first 2 days of the car sitting in the driveway he dove into it and started tearing out all the emissions. Maybe a little too ambitions but we've been able to put everything back together. We ended up cooking ECU by hooking up the battery incorrectly. New ECU, fuel pump and a bit of rewiring and we've been able to get the car started after sitting for 20+ years!! Though it took some ATF and learning how to 'unflood' the fuel system and quite a bit of smoke she runs better than I thought she would.
We have quite a few kinks to work out and update before we start drifting, which leads me to the questions and issues we're running into. But for those items I'll try to post in their respective places.
Thanks in advance for the help and advice!!

The Rx-7s are amazing for getting into the car scene, my first car when I was 16 was a 85' .... Im 18 now haha! It's been a blast meeting all the amazing people on the forum and I recommend joining some Facebook groups as well. Good luck to you and your son! you guys definitely picked up a rad car!
