Hey from Canada
I'll get to the point....
I'm a high school student who is basically right around the corner from getting his first car. I've considered every option available to me, like the AE86, Toyota Cressida, and even the Nissan Skyline. But most of those cars seem to have their own set of issues associated, like price and age. I tend to change my mind a lot, and now I've decided to start looking at FC RX-7's as a viable option.
I came here to see what's needed in maintaining an FC, and to break the mould of FF drivers at my school (It's the riceboy image I cant get out of my head, and I want to be different by getting into FR). I can pick up an FC where I live for a reasonable price (1.5-4k depending on condition and amount of tuning already done). The sound of a rotary engine is also one of those kick-*** factors to an RX-7.
Coming here should be a learning experience to be able to learn more about FC's and the Mazda rotary cars in general. Now an FC might not be a good option for a high school student (I wanted family car seating, but most FC's up here have those back seats designed for a midget, and maybe there's a thread here on how I can extend that while keeping the hatch space...) but I'm willing to get all that crap associated with getting into an old car (or a rotary engined car for that matter...)
I hope for a (somewhat) warm welcome.
Thanks.
