VA Herro!!!

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and to rx-7s. A few days ago I picked up a 1988 Turbo II for 500 bucks. I swapped fuel pumps for a walbro 255 because the one that came with it was bad, drained bad gas, put fresh gas in it.. bought new spark plugs and that seemed to solve the rest of my starting issues. It starts right up now and even restarts after being turned off lol. Regular NGK plugs cost 7 bucks each!?!? Ive never paid that much for spark plugs EVAR! Brake master cylinder should be here on Saturday so i can hopefully get some brakes on this beast. Tomorrow Im gonna flush the cooling system and replace the t-stat. Oil pres. gauge and gas gauge don't work, sunroof doesn't open, blown struts... there's a few things to fix still. The body is good, hardly any rust, interior is pretty decent.. Can anyone point me to a couple test pipes for the cats? Exhaust is fairly rusty, could use replacement.. Here's some pics!

You sound like you're in the same boat I'm in with my 83 that's been sitting for a few years... I bought mine for 550 about 3 weeks ago and so far I'm replacing the slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder, brake master cylinder, starter, fuel filter, and fuel pump. I've also added a 10 micron filter next to the carb along with an adjustable regulater and some new wires.

Mine wouldn't idle without the choke on all the way until I removed all of the vacuum lines and associated emmissions. Doing that fixed almost all of the vacuum leaks and now I can idle around a grand. I'm waiting on some block off plates so it will look right. Right now I've got screws, rtv, and vacuum plugs on everything.
