Hello From Upstate NY

Hello everyone, my name is corbyn and I recently purchased my first rotary powered vehicle, it’s a 1983 fb rx7. The car has sat in a basement since 2006 and has been preserved quite well. Car has a very small amount of rust. It’s nothing special just a (S). I believe the 12A is tired and needs a rebuild (95k miles) sadly I have not found anyone within 3 hrs who has the tools or knowledge necessary to assist me in the rebuild. Worse comes to worse I’ll buy the specific rotary tools I’ll need and rebuild it myself as I’m not interested in swapping it.

I have taken 2 years of auto at a trade school during high school and I start my 2 year AOS (auto) at a local collage next month. I also own a 96 Acura integra with a b20z2 high comp swap.

Welcome to the forum Corbyn! It was nice talking to you on Saturday and I'm looking forward to seeing you restore the car! Definitely start a build thread on the car in the 1st Gen Builds section! It will be awesome to see the restoration documented!

Welcome to the forum.

There's a TON of information archived here, just read all the stickied posts and use the search function in the section you're inquiring. There's many good build videos on youtube walking through inspecting and rebuilding a rotary engine, so if you're not intimidated by getting your hands dirty it will be a really fun experience.
Also i echo above, a build thread is a great way to document and have people check in on your progress. Best of luck!
