Hello, from Pakistan

Good day, all. Wanted to greet everyone here, and give a little intro, being a newbie here.

I am 38 years of age born in Lahore, Pakistan - been around the world for work related postings, having worked for a container shipping company.

I am now back in my home city and country, operating an automotive workshop and running a small imported lube oil business as well.

Bought myself my dream vehicles when I got back - an E36 (1996 BMW 318i manual tranny, and a 1st gen Mazda RX-7)

While I have exercised the 'purist' approach to the BMW (as able to find parts locally as well as import from nearby places like Dubai)

I could not do the same for the Mazda (unable to import items for its rotary, due in part to companies not shipping to my country, and high customs fees this side of the pond) - request you to all please these facts in mind, not hate as per the usual rotary is better and everything else in the entire world is rubbish)

The idea was to keep this legend of a car on the road for many years to come - thus came the Lexus 1UZFE that currently sits in the vehicle for the past decade; also, completed an upgrade to it over the past year, i.e. a roots type supercharger install.

Here is a photo of my RX7 for everyone's perusal.

Will share some of the build on an appropriate build thread on this forum.

Thanks for reading in!

Best regards,
Ali

BC FD Club in Pakistan?

I have come across a series of pics that look like they are from meets of FD owners in Pakistan. Do you know of them? If so, sign them up as well. And post some pics. The cars I saw were in some pretty unique settings. Interesting to hear the backstories of how they got there.

while am not on any local clubs, do know that most of the FDs here are located in other cities, like Peshawar, and Karachi. Very few in Lahore.

also, nearly all of them are non rotary based engines now.

will try, and get them to join up and post their setups here.

Great to see another Pakistani represent! Congrats on the car buddy and I'm so happy there are RX7s in Lahore! It's a shame that rotary parts are so difficult to get out there - do you have the same trouble getting parts from Japan? On the flipside, I'm always envious of some of the ingenuity and fabrication skills of the guys out there, I always feel that in Pakistan, if you have the means the only limit is your imagination, whereas in the western world the costs can be really prohibitive.

Look forward to seeing your build!

ZZ33 - thanks for the warm welcome, and yes, in Pakistan, there is so much talent, it is unbelievable - the sky is the limit to what our people can achieve, given the right choices.

Japan is better when it comes to sourcing parts, though by the time I got back from work/slaverry, the inclination towards a hassle free, and longer lasting engine took its toll on the purist in me..

You will see when I finally get to post my current setup, that a lot has been done, and while we still think we are not done, the amount of work, love, and man-hours that have brought the car into its form now, is incalculable.

Recently bought these 18's that have a massive depth of 9.5', and this is the first test fit pic I took - shows a bit more of the RX7!

Will post max photos on the build thread (once I am authorized to post, of course)!!

Thanks, SRTx781! I have a 1UZ-FE (V8) in that 1st Gen.. Couldn't have picked a better engine for this!

On a separate note, straight 6s.. Only BMW!
