MN Hello from Minnesota

I'm Colby and I live just out of Minneapolis. I just bought an '83 Limited Edition a few days ago. The previous owner told me he was on here sometime or another. I'm loving this car so far! It's got the famed 'Leak of Death,' an accelerator pump issue that makes it want to die if you give it too much gas to start moving (have to tap it first), so I figure I'll send my carb out to National to have it rebuild. However, $300 is pretty pricey.

Other than those two major problems, I'll be set to go! Oh, and I've got a bit of trouble getting the tranny into different gears. I read about the awesome 50/50 gear oil & ATF mix. I'm going to do that, but does anyone know specifically what gear oil I should use? I know it MUST be GL-4, but people are saying get Lucas, get Redline, get Royal Purple. Those oils all exceed GL-5. I'm not sure if that's good or bad in this case. So before I start my own thread on this... any ideas on which gear oil to specifically get and which ATF to buy with it?

Beyond all that stuff, it's awesome to be here and hopefully I'll get to meet some of you from around the Twin Cities some day.

Thanks! I'm already on it. I think I'm going to park it and pull the carb off for a rebuild on Monday.
