Hello from Miami..
Hello from Miami..
I'm Ryan. Long time lurker.
I am an LS guy. I've swapped an LS with a blower into a 68 Camaro. I used to have an LS1 Trans Am.
I have a 2014 C7 Z51 Corvette.
Frankly, I think the LS/Chevy gen 3/4/5 engines are the best production engine, dollar for dollar, ever made. They take a serious beating. They make huge power easily, and are inexpensive.
Before you boo, keep reading.
So maybe a year ago I bought an FD3S 1993 shell for two grand, to put an LS into it. It has no engine or transmission. It will need some body work, paint, and probably some upholstery work. Basically to be completely restored. Which is fine. It will be a slow project, over the next year or so.
But I see these crazy videos of 13b turbo cars. I read all of the rotor/piston arguments. And while once I though the rotor crowd was crazy, now I get it. The sound. The high revs. The boost. It's almost like an Italian sports car vs a muscle car. Finesse. Light weight. I think I am starting to actually catch the rotor fever. I already have two V8s, and why not have the unique 13b (or even 20b?) engine? But I am still making up my mind as to what I am going to do.
I joined this site because over the next few years I will be building up my FD.
Thanks for having me.
Ryan
