Hello from long island
Hello from long island
Im not really new just been out of the lupe for a bit. My dad passed awayin December, and I have been in the dumps ever since. My wife and friend's have been pulling me back into the car scene, more important the RX7/Rotary scene . You see my dad and me were a team we worked on Rotarys and RX7's for years, since i was 15 years old, Im 28 now so i've learned a gread deal. My dad has always been my father, my mentor and my best friend . I've owned about 6 RX7 FC's from NA's to turbo 2's from Mild to Wild. I bought a 93' FD in 06' and that was and is my Baby. I was working on it for so long with my dad, fixing all the screw up's from the last owner. We also have done alot of custom work to the car while maintaining its Sleeper Status....

I've seen a couple of other instances that mirror your own experience but in the Pontiac community. I can think of no higher honor than to finish what you and your Dad started. The "other instances" found those sons (sometimes they were brothers, in fact...) finishing the Pontiac GTO's that they had started as a team as tributes to their Dad. On the one hand, it will always be a tear jerker to look at the car because Dad will always pop in your head right at that instance, too, but it's better to think that he's proud of what you did as he watches you from above. I have a quote from an old book that I like to think about whenever this subject comes up.
Best of luck on getting everything done the way it should be done.

My condolences on your loss but I thank you also for sharing this story and having the guts to finally shake off the depression phase and step back into the light of the world. - A Tale of Two Cities, C Dickens, 1859

i appriciate you understanding and your condolances . it has been a rough time for me , but the love and support of family, friends and good people like you i will have strength to hold my head up high and continue on the path my father and i started
thank you for your thought's and wish's. ive been in my garage all night working on my taillights , spoiler, center console , shifter for my fd . and i will post pictures soon
I am 27 and know that I would be crushed if I lost my dad. We have both worked on project cars as well, and I know that he would want me to finish a car we had been working on. Get it finished and know, in that first drive, he is smiling from heaven.
