Hello from Japan

Hi everyone,

I bought my 93 FD3S (R1) about a year ago after having wanted one of these things since I was a young corporal in the Corps. Saw my first 3rd gen in '94 over here in Japan and as fate would have it I'm now living over here as a civilian working for DoD.

The car was beat to hell and bone stock when I got it. Kind of challenging learning curve to deal with these demons on wheels but on the other hand there's something about them that can make you just stand there and stare at it for 15 minutes at a time. My wife of course, thinks I'm looney.

I've never really been the automotive sort but I figured I repaired multi million dollar airplanes in the Marines, I can figure this thing out. Still and all, theres no other car that can compare to the 7.

Right now I'm going through all of the reliability mods. Most of them are done just waiting on my radiator and replacement water hoses/vac lines. Also got some viton check valves on the way (thanks Dale!). My plan is to yank everything out, learn how to do all the solenoid tests (thanks dgeesaman) and just learn about the car.

While I'm waiting on that I figured I'd yank out the old trashed interior pieces and give it some TLC inside, theres about 200 years worth of dust behind all that stuff.

Looking forward to hopefully be able to contribute back to all the things I've learned from you guys so far. This is a wonderful community and I'm proud to be a part of it now.

Here's a couple pics of my other wife (demanding and wants money all the time!)
