Hello. Im Rick from SA TX. New rx7 owner.
Hello everyone.
My name is Rick and I am new to the rotary world, but not to Mazdas. I also own an 88 mx6 gt with a turbo FE DOHC, a 97 turbo miata. My wife just picked up an Rx8 3 months ago, and I followed too buying an 88 rx7 gxl with 140k miles and alot of new parts installed by the previous owner.
Ive already done the standard tune up and oil change. Previous owner was battling a rich, rough running cold start, and flooding issues. After alot of research I found out the problem was the coolant temp sensor by the water pump. Replaced it with a $16 sensor from autozone and now it starts up smooth, idles smooth, and generally runs great.
I usually do more reading/research than posting, but Ill get up there. I have already learned a great deal within the first day buying the car. And now I am off to learn more about the rotary side of mazda.

Did you resolve this issue yet or are you still having problems. Glad I could have at least help eliminate one possibilty.
