Hello everyone! YEt another CA "Rotard"
Hello all! i'm new to the rotary scene, and just picked up an 88 vert. It's needing work but all in all it's SUCH a fun car to drive. I am definitely keeping this as a project but currently it's a DD project. Just ordered a set of Megan Coils (cut springs in the front are retarded...and NOT safe), some HID's from V-LED's, black crystal headlights etc blah blah... just thought I'd introduce myself and say what's up!

If you're concerned about safety, I'd also be wary of those cheap HID kits.
The only real way to get HIDs to focus properly is to use a projector housing which costs well over a coupe hundred bucks.
Anything that's less than 400 or 500 bucks will not be using a projector housing, but a reflector housing that's designed for a halogen bulb. Halogen and HID xenon arc lamps are different and need different lenses to be focused properly.
Using an HID Xenon bulb in a Halogen housing will result in lots of glare to oncoming drivers. One of them might be blinded enough to swerve into your lane.
There is a vendor on here (SakeBomb Garage/FD Newbie) that is developing a kit that uses Infiniti FX projectors modified to fit in a Glass 6054 housing. It is rather pricey at $750, but look at the cutoff pics. The light aims DIRECT at the road and not upwards at all.
This means you don't waste any power in shining light all over and instead get even more light directed straight where you need it.
Check out the development thread here:

It's sad that this site is sponsored by HIDextra.com, one of those vendors that sells the shitty $75 HID kits that everyone likes to get.

Nice dude, thanks
Yeah, I have heard that those are better. But what about Hella's H4 conversion kit. I've heard they are great from NicoClub members all over the place (I have an 89 s123 I'm restoring as well). this HID kit is not cheap in quality, it's the best aftermarket one I've seen at $200 for a Hi-Lo Magnetically charged digital HID conversion and a 3 year warranty I figured I couldn't lose. So far they are pretty damn good. My housings suck hellabad, however, my mistake, like a dumbass I once again thought I was getting a deal. So now I'm looking into Silverstars and Hella's. Nicoclub members suggest the hella kit because it doesn't blind people and they are designed for a correct cutoff with HID kits. What would you suggest if I don't have 700 to blow on lenses?
