Hello all, my name is Bryan, from chicago Il.
I bought a '91 rx7 N/A 13b 5spd manual last summer, and I love it.
I wanted a project car to build using what I know from experience working on cars, I thought why not set self myself apart and work on rotaries too get the best of both worlds?
Information about the car:
Engine- soft fuel lines signs of fatigue, emissions deleted, A/C deleted some hoses exist, vacuum lines cracked and missing, missing TPS, coolant level sensor wire grounded but sensor is still attached, rebuilt engine (no info of when or proof of paper work), mounts mediocre, leaking thermostat elbow, fouled plugs, dying fuel pump, clogged and reverse installed fuel filter and not to mention hesitating on quick throttle use.
Exhaust- RB manifold, mid pipe Y pipe and RB mufflers. Sounds great btw and exhaust leak somewhere too.
Drive line- aftermarket short throw shifter, leaking and rotted clutch line with dirty fluid, reverse switch damaged and nonoperational back-up lights, worn out trans mounts, don't know if 5th gear switch is functioning, torn shift boot, shift **** threads damaged, no info about the clutch and pressure plate, output shaft seal leaking and shifter seal leaking, and diff ok.
Suspension- aftermarket lowered springs, RB front and rear sway bars, RB sway bar links, fronts are OEM, front left shock leaking and not working, rear sub-frame left lateral arm bent whole frame replaced with a junk yard part,power steering ok, steering wheel cocked to the right drives straight.
Brakes- all brake pads not lubricated but ok, rotors ok, brake master signs of leaking, with dirty fluid, brake warning lamp doesn't illuminate when using e-brake, and no pulling when applying brakes or noise.
Body Exterior- chip on windshield, white paint aged and some peeling spots, rust in front cross member by the battery, power antenna mast and motor broken, bent and rusted lift points, small rust by spoiler and some by fuel door, huge rust and welding work to support front left sway bar mount and sticking fuel door release.
Body Interior- window glass and sunroof moves but slow, some dash plastics cracked with missing screws, center air vent fins missing, I installed a new stereo and left rear speaker not working.
Misc- APEXi turbo timer hidden tucked under steering column and hard wired, failed attempt battery relocation, battery moves freely in engine compartment, no spare tire, some rust in that area, rotten fuel injector o-rings, and diffusers damaged.
I fixed majority of the problems I encountered, and it runs if I need it moved or taken for town cruise, but due to financing issues its in storage so I can find a new place with a garage to keep it in, right now its parked behind my parent's apartment under a cover and hooked to a battery maintainer.
I want to do a 13b Turbo II and drive line build, with a stand alone ECU. I'm currently gathering info in acquiring parts for my build.
