Hello all. I am a new member

Just bought a 1993 touring. Good car overall, but I will need to do some engine work. I am in Houston and the closest place I know to take the car is performance rotary in Garland Texas. I’m glad to finally pick up a Rx7. I had a 1981 in hs and a 1985 in college. I loved them.

Hello kwikkar,

Welcome to our forum! Congratulations on your recent purchase of a 93 Touring. Do you have a picture to share? As a new member, be sure to check out the FAQs for forum guidelines and the FD. Rotary Performance in Garland, TX is a well established rotary shop that continues to serve our community. If they are close to you then take advantage of that close proximity. What sort of engine work are you expecting to have?

Welcome!! Do you happen to have any period photographs of your FB's? What all does your new FD need? Any pictures of the car to share?

I will have to add a pic of the car this weekend. The pic I have now is a dark pic of it in the garage. The smog pump is toast (I will throw that away anyway), but compression is below spec on three of the readings. It is probably since it has been sitting for so long and the apex seals probably got hard. Decarbonizing it has not helped much and either has driving with fuel mix. At any rate, I will probably do a full overhaul with a couple of upgrades (porting, downpipe, apex seals and 16 bit computer, etc...). I wish there was a shop in Houston, but Performance Rotary seams like a solid shop. Unfortunately, the wait list is long and I am waiting till February to get my car in.
