Hello

Ok. Well here goes.
Hey everyone. It’s kind of funny being a newbie…again..lol. Anyways, I’ve been around RX7s for some time now and have done a lot of work to them. Even worked for the dealer and Tri Point. At one time. But never really got into them till now.

Sure I always like them and had even took a championship in one. But now I own one. Ok, I own 3. Nothing like just jumping in head first.

I remember the first time I drove a 7. I worked at the Harbor import center for Mazda, Installing A/C and Cruse controls. At the time I was big into Datsun 510’s. But always had a spot in my heart for the 7.

I went on to work for Nissan on and off to 25years (yes I’m that old). Honda for about 4 years. Yes and even Mazda for a year or two (when the 3ed gen was new).

As my Autocrossing days got more intense, taking multiple championships with the 510. I started Dirt track racing too. This opens a door into all types of racing and racing people. I had raced BMX bikes and road raced motorcycles back in the 70’s. But this was something that was a life long dream.

I soon got a job at Griggs Racing. Mustangs are also a love of mine. If it were not for the cost of running them on the track. I may have got into one. Well from there I went on to work for Tri Point. Building Mazda’s and BMW’s for the track. I did mostly suspension and engine management stuff. Tuning and mapping for 2nd and 3rd gen’s.

Now I work for a utility company in the garage. Doing anything from fab work, machining parts to service work for the fleet.

In the mean time. I was helping out my friends who had just started Wildpony Motorsports. Again building mustangs. I drove for them too. Derren, who I had met while working at Tri Point, was into 7’s. He had a few of them. One that was a collection of junkyard parts, he called Timmay. Named after the South Park’s famous crippled kid.

Timmy was far from race ready, but Derren would use him for track days. It had a roll cage, and a few things that made Timmy track ready. After Derren got a Mustang set up for racing. Timmy was used to lend out. Timmy all in primer gray was beat on. Time after time and would just keep running.

I then asked if I could run the car in NASAas a Pro7 car. So it came to be. First Timmy got a paint job. Staying with the LOW budget way. I painted Timmy with a nice new coat of Rust Oleum White. Yes for under 100 bucks Timmy was looking all pretty and clean. Ok there were a few runs here and there. But for racing, it was perfect.

Well long story short, I took the TT championship the first year and then both the TT and PT championship the next year. Also picked up a track record along the way.

Now I’m looking to build a car to go to the National Championship. So here I am.
