Hello Everyone
My name's Paul and I have been in the Mazda6 scene since the car was originally released in 2004. I started getting into autoX with the 6 through the local clubs and have traveled to Ohio to autoX with some US members. My was starting to become less of a daily driver and more of a track car, after having to replace the motor last summer I realized it's time for a change. After spending $4500 to get my Mazda into a running state, I weighed the options, I have a 3200lb FWD (car was lightened) car with driver, with an open diff. There was no way I was going to be more competitive unless I was willing to spend some big money. So I started looking around at what some other options were, and the option to change chassis came up since I need a daily driver to get to work, and can't risk putting my only car out of commission again.
So I decided to try and get my hands on an FD RX-7 either a local one or one from Japan. My plans are to build a decent track car that can still be driven on the street, since I don't have room for a trailer to tow it in. Right now I plan on reading most of the forum (although that could take a while) and asking some intelligent questions should I have any.
A little bit of forum history on myself, I was a regional moderator for mazda6club.com and I am an administrator at torontomazda6.com. I have helped organize meets large and small as well as a club BBQ's, and cruises through some of Toronto's best kept secret roads, not just with the Mazda6 crew but also with Toronto Mazda3 and Toronto Protege clubs.
(Some history on the username, I have worked on about every Mazda6 in the Toronto Mazda6 club at my house. Thus living in the suburb of Maple, the members named my house Maple Mazda. I have done everything here from car washing to engine swaps)
