Hallo to everybody on the board
my name is Marcel and I am from Germany. The username means nothing but I tried 4 different other names which all have been used already.
I run into RX7s about 10 years ago when I saw one on a car park in of the company I was working for. Initially, and from a distance, I though it was a TVR. I got in touch with the owner and he told me about RX7s (FD). I asked to buy the car and actually the owner wanted to sell and made an offer. We agreed, but than the owner redrew the offer. Non the less I had a test drive. The engine and its power delivery felt very soft and smooth, not really what I expected from a turbo engine. Acceleration was good, so I guessed the seqential turbos were just working right and you just do not feel the turbos to kick in.
I tried to get hold of an FD here in germany but did not find anything interesting and affortable, buying from england was no option.
So plans for an RX7 were on hold for quite some time till recently, through drag racing, I looked into rotaries again. I like the simplicity of the engine, its light wheight and compactness. Especially on single turbos I think it makes a very good set up. I would be particularly interested in drag engine building, running on E85 or meth (like the puerto ricans seem to do). Maybe someone can guide me to relevant liks or disclose some information.
To my background. I am not new to turbo engines as it is my passion. I worked on several cars before like Porsche 944 trubos and converted a BMW E30 to turbo including all fabrication and tuning. I also previousely run E85 on another car.
Non the less, I still do not own a RX7 yet. Just want to learn more about the engine till I start my own project.
So I hope to benefit from all your knowledge and I will contribute in areas I think I can be helpfull.

we ll see. Looking through some threads, there seem to be much more information availble and also much more detailed than a few years ago. Its a bit strange and maybe only my impresion but maybe rotaries became more popular since they die...
Would be interested also to hear som oppinions on the new X16 engine. Nomally anything more enviormental friedly turns to sh... okay, maybe E85 is an exception but it is also not exactly enviormental friendly.
