CO Guy looking for a slightly different project car ;) (H6)

Hey name's dave,

I drive a 1999 2.5rs with a 1996 jdm STI swap, makes about 285whp/320 ft/lbs @ around 2720 lbs with 1/4 tank of gas very fast, awd etc... anyways, i'm looking at picking up an FD for a project car. the idea came up from 2 angles... alot of subaru guys shove your FD rear ends to convert to RWD...everything bolts up to our EJ/EG H4/H6 including the bellhousing perfectly. on the flip side, i saw not one but two examples of porsche swapped EG33s. Now i know you guys, like the porsche guys, are quite loyal to your rotaries and don't really like the idea of non-rotary powerplants under your RX7 hoods, but bear with me. At least this swap is japanese and different

Anyways i'm going to be doing research and will hopefully pick up a FD roller soon. the Eg33 H6 is only 22inches wide cylinder to cylinder vs the weaksauce LS1 @ 20.5, so it shouldnt be especially hard fitment wise...just some mounts/hydra ems. Basically looking as a start to fab the mounts, drop the EG33 in and mate it to the FD trans, get it running, then run a nice N/a build with I/H/E and Cams at around 300-310 crank. Should be a nice combo as the Subaru H6 is so short, so the weight distribution should still be pretty close to the oem Rotary numbers. Eventually prep it for the track, strip the interior, yada yada. maybe boost.

I actually used to lurk alot since my GC8 is run on a Powerfc, and you guys use it alot versus its nonexistent usage in the subaru community. Nice to meet you guys!

Dave
