Greetings from SW Michigan
Hi folks.
I am a hobbyist with too many hobbies, I suppose. One of those has been a 1984 RX7 I bought off of a guy on a whim. It has been a few years since I touched it and now this week my son decided he was old enough to get it running. He has, with a bit of advice, managed to install a new Racing Beat carb conversion kit with a Holley carb and Mallory 4070M pump. I have used this forum over the time I have owned this car to guide me through this journey. The car came with serious drivability issues related to the condition of the stock injection system. I had nearly resolved most of them when I got water in the mass airflow sensor and corroded it to pieces. Enough was enough and I have pulled out everything not needed for forward momentum and braking and now have a new carb installed.
This is by far one of the nicest forums I frequent.
For giggles these are the cars and trucks I have owned or own. Sometimes up to seven at once, to my family's chagrin.
1979 Renault Le Car (took my wife on our first date in this one...)
1981 Ford F350 Service Body 4x4
1984 Mazda RX7
1985 BMW 528e
1986 Chevy Suburban 2500 4x4
1989 Ford F150 Plow Truck
1991 GMC Sierra 2500 LT 4x2
1996 Chevy S10 V6 4x2
1999 GMC Suburban
2001 GMC Sierra 1500 4x2
2002 VW Golf
2003 Ford F-250 6.0
2004 Mazda MVP
2004 Ford F-350 6.0
2005 Ford F-250 6.0
2006 Toyota Corolla
2009 Ford Escape 4x4 V6
2010 Dodge Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins
2011 Ford F-150 Ecoboost
My daily driver is now the Corolla and my wife is driving our 2001 GMC we inherited with 35k original miles.
Happy Weekend!
