Greetings from Northern California
Hello Everyone, I am Kevin From Chico, CA.
My first love was my 1996 Honda Prelude. I would tinker around with basic stuff on the car here and there using forums such as this one to gain more information. I had a little fender bender after thinking that I was Takumi Fujiwara in a FF car. Ended up replacing the hood, front fender, bumper and fell in love with working on cars. Replaced the suspension on the prelude and started AutoXing. I had been a fan of motorsports for awhile, played Gran Turismo since the beginning, but after driving a cone course in a car that I had wrenched on myself I was hooked. Unfortunately I lost my first love in a pretty nasty Highway accident. Avoided cars and highways for a while after that.
Since then I got enganged (now married) and when it was time to get a replacement car, my now wife talked me into getting something "practical". I ended up getting a Subaru Forester to get me back and forth between school, work, skate park and home, Trips up to Tahoe for snowboarding in the winter and camping in the summer. It has been a good car, but I have never lost that itch from my AutoX days.
I have graduated form the University with a Civil Engineering degree, worked for a couple years at my grown up job and I am no longer scraping by on a student budget. It is time to get behind the wheel of something my wife would consider to be "unpractical" (I think we all know better).
So I am here to learn from other enthusiasts, hopefully participate and learn what to look for when choosing a new love.
Sorry for the long post in the introductions section, but it is a slow day at the office and I am a little bored.
