Greetings from the North!
Hi everyone,
Greetings from Ottawa, Canada...long time reader, first time poster. I purchased my 93 FD last August from a local seller. Quick stats on the vehicle, mainly stock:
93 FD - red
wrapped rx7store downpipe
Fighters Garage intake
Apexi Power FC
Tanabe Medallion Touring Exhaust
99 spec front lip
Feed side skirts
RE-style diffuser
The car is still on its original motor, but I'm probably living on borrowed time since it's pushing 148,000km's. Compression test was strong and I just passed the emmissions testing without issue, so fingers crossed that everything keeps plugging along!
I made my first real blunder while working on it last weekend....to make a long story short, my wife and I just had twin boys so my time working in the garage has significantly reduced. I ordered the "mickey mouse" gauge pod approx a month ago and finally had a small window of opportunity to install it. While drilling the pilot holes to wire the gauges I must have nicked the back of the speedo housing...so as nice as my boost and temp gauge looked, I no longer had a speedo or tach. Took the gauge cluster out, opened it up and sure enough I had managed to mangle the top corner of the speedo circuit board, so no quick fix.
I sent Ramy a quick email regarding the speedo's on his site (FDNewbie), but from what I'm reading elsewhere on the board he's not around these days...so, bit the bullet and ordered a 300km/h RE-Amemiya version from rhdjapan. So, lesson learned, rushing through stuff = $$$$
