I’ve always like rotary’s thought they were pretty cool and different from everything else and you don’t ever really see them on the road so I figured I pick one up and restore it back to new. To put another one back on the road. I’ve always been into cars and I love to fix them up this car is the last car I needed for my collection. I have a gas car a diesel truck and now a Rotary to add to the family.
Congratulations on your new RX-7 and welcome to the forum!! Do you know any of the car's history?
Don’t know much about the car I did a car fax on it and the only thing it said was it was last registered in 1995 and it failed emissions in 2005 the car was in Maryland it’s whole life.
The best thing I found in the car was a receipt from 2002 from a Toyota dealership in Maryland. The Mazda rotor housings were $446 a piece and the apex seals were $44 each. There’s other stuff too but those are the most expensive ones on the receipt.
That sounds like mayhaps the engine could have been rebuilt at one time. Unless the parts came with the car.... Either way, it looks like a great car to restore and Sapphire Blue is a great color on the FC. I had an 88 GXL in Sapphire Blue years back and I really loved the color!
