First time post , but long time fan.

Hi my name is Leo

And i been a fan of Rx7's since i was in high school, and almost 10 years later i can finaly afford my own.

I live in Australia, and FDs are considered a fairly expensive car for its age, and so many people's been giving me negative comments about the car... "Its such an old car you can get alot of other cars for cheaper price" "Rotaries are so expensive to keep and they are so unreliable"

I been able to defend off or ignore those comments for a long time, but now that im actually ready to buy one for myself, those comments are starting to get to me.

I done alot of reading everywhere, learning how the car works, and nothing is going to stop me from getting one. So i came up with 2 conclusions for myself.

A) I buy a AUD$20,000 series 8, around 100,000kms then slowly work on it to actually make it "my" car.

or

B) I buy a AUD$30,000 series 8, with low kms (around 40k-50k) and keep it the way it is.

And knowing the difference between the different types of the series 8, is it really worth paying so much more for around 15 extra horse power or 10mm bigger disks,
and is it worth paying more for a series 8 series 2 (for white gauges and chrome, and trim)

will be very greatful for any ideas or information... really want to be able to come back and say "Iam now a owner of an FD"

Thanks
Leo.
