MS first time

Just purchased first 187 RX7 as I have always wanted one and its in process of being shipped now! We had a lot of fun with them in my younger days. I have a lot to learn about upkeep of this ride so may be a regular on here. Purchased from a classic car dealership and vehicle seems to be in great condition. My biggest(probably very basic) questions are about the type oil, gas etc. to use and some basic routine maintenance tips to keep this at top performance. Only 39,000 original miles. Thanks in advance all!

Welcome. I assume you mean 1987 RX-7. As for oil, Mazda recommends 20w50 in the warmer months and 10w40 in the cooler months. I use Castrol GTX personally and a Mazda oil filter. I run 87 in my FC, no need to run anything with a higher octane rating. Oil and filter changes every 3000 miles or less, coolant change every 24 months. Spark plugs as needed, usually every 24 months if not used as a daily driver. Check the air filter every six months and replace the fuel filter if its original. Belts, hoses, plug wires, and wipers as needed and tire rotations with the oil change. Mazda provides service intervals in the owners manual but I prefer to do things my way and ensure the longevity of my 7's.
