First RX7!

Decided to post up a thread here as I neglected to when I first posted, so here goes! I've been looking for an RX7 for a couple years now but I never found one near me when I had the money to buy. Found this FC donated to a charity and being auctioned as is, not running. Cost me $2k and a cheeseburger for some help from a buddy. Choosing a rotary as my first car seems like a good way to get into it, lol. My dad had an FB when he was in college, now I've got an FC in college, feels rather fitting.

It's an '86, but whoever had it previously did some work to it, swapping to S5 tails and intake, Borla catback, momo wheel, and some other various items. Even came with two 10mm sockets, free of charge! It has a summit branded RPM switch hanging out in the center console, any ideas what that is? Either way, after a fuel pump and a fluid change, she started right up and idled well. I'm assuming this is base trim.

That said, I've got plenty of time here in Wisconsin until I'll be driving it, so I've decided to go ahead and make some changes. The vacuum rat's nest has some leaks, so I'm going to go right ahead and pull out all of the emissions equipment. I've also got a busted fuel line underneath the car that needs replacing and I want to eventually turbo the car so I pulled the trigger on a new fuel system and LIM which I'll have to match to the 6 port irons. I'm on the lookout for an REW upper intake, so if anyone has one laying around, let me know! To go along with all this, I'll need an ECU, and I know it's been asked to death, but if anyone has any recommendations on something not too expensive I'd love to hear them. I'm not worried about PNP, the wiring is brittle and I'm comfortable assembling a harness. I want to see how much power I can make without opening the block until I rebuild it next winter to put a turbo on it.

Overall, I'm excited to be a part of the community and to enjoy the car!

Welcome!! Appears to be a 1986 Sport model. Its not a base level trim and the Sport model is fairly rare. I think its a nice car to restore and will treat you well for many years if properly maintained.
