First RX7..

Hey my names Bill. Just bought my first RX7. I have an 87 RX7 Turbo 2. It currently does not start but it will get there. Looking forward to learning as much as I can.

Looks like a great project to start with. What's wrong with it?

i posted in the second gen forum as well. It cranks but won’t fire up. I have done the deflooding procedures, replaced the plugs, verified I have spark and fuel. Ordered a new starter from Banzhai racing because the old one sounded tired. It has some disconnected electrical connectors in the engine bay and under the dash which I posted in the second gen forum.

Im excited to get it running.

What are your plans for the car, besides getting it to run?

If that's an original unmodified TII, and it appears to be, that car has the potential to be worth a lot of money. How many miles are on the car? First thing I would do is verify even compression pulses. Since it will not run run, performing a proper compression test is not possible. These engines need to be a normal operating temperature or the compression test results will not be accurate what so ever.

Thanks for the reply. It is an original turbo 2. I did get it started but within 30 seconds of running it dumped its entire oil supply on the ground and ran extremely poorly. Back to the drawing board lol.
