Welcome to the forum!! To know if it was an actual repainted 83 LE, you would have to look at the color code stamped into the vin plate on the firewall. The color code should be S3, Chateau Silver Metallic. Only the 83 LE had this color.

The door jams aren't painted so I can see it. Will confirm for myself when I get back from a trip

car looks nice. it caught my eye because it has a paint scheme similar to one of my Matchbox Rx-7s.
