First Gen Targa Project ~ Netherland

Hello Guys,

My name is Jurgen and I have been working on my own First Gen Targa Project car for quite some time now. I have finished the reinforcements, finished replacing all the rusty parts and last year I have finished the fiberglass roof-inlay.
I have been writing my progress in the quarterly magazine of the Dutch RX-7 club and the editor is expecting a new edition of my story real soon. Problem is, that I have no progress to report. Other cars have demanded my attention, so I could not spend any time on my Targa.

Since there are at least two members of this forum (Spiker and Chris G) who own a Petty (or Petty like) Custom Targa, I hope that one of you can help me with the following:

Could you help me out and send me a little story about how it feels to own your car? How it drives, how much fun it is in sunny or maybe even in rainy weather? How does it handle? Is it flexy or quite rigid? could you send me some pictures of the construction underneath, close-ups of the doors (where the window frame has been removed) and the front of the roof? I have been struggling with the seals around roof and windows, so maybe you have idea's how they are made/fixed in your car?

Please answer in a PM, so we can exchange e-mail addresses
Thank you!

Regards, Jurgen

Hey Jurgen.

Welcome to the forums!

It would probably be best to post your question in the 1st gen section or to PM the users that you know of directly.

Hi Funkjaw,
Since I am new to this list, my possibilities are (were) limited for contacting other forum members. at this time I have a "score" of 5 posts, so in the meantime I have sent a PM to Spiker as well as Chris G. No response yet. Don't know how often they visit the forum. E-mail address would be quicker I guess.
I could try to find a post of either of them and reply to that. I guess they will then be informed via e-mail...

Regards, Jurgen

So another thing you could do.. is visit the profile page for those users, and click on "contact info" tab.. often times it will have their direct email, or instant messenger, etc..
