IN First gen questions and intro

I recently acquired a rust free 85 FB!!
OK now about me:
My name is Eric and ive been rebuilding the beautiful wankel engines for just under 7 years. I have only owned 2 RX7s(an 89 tII, and my recently purchased 85FB33) but have rebuilt and ported everything from 12As all the way to the renesis. ive known nothing but cars since i was 3 years old which set me apart from everybody around here. i currently own 3 vehicles: stock 85 6port12a FB, 90 notchback Mustang, and my dreaded 89 Bronco.

If you have any questions just ask I'm an open book.

Here's my FB

I'm new here too

I had two 79's an 80, 84, and 86. My favorite was the 84. I have had no RX7 since 2009 and want to get back into this. What would you suggest I look for, be careful about, and pay for a good driver that may need work. For now my budget is 3 to 5K. Thanks.

Congrats on the new purchase! I'm on my 5th RX7 with a 6th one (FB widebody) on the way.

Inspector71 - that's a really good budget, you should be able to find a nice unmolested example of a first gen well inside your budget. A nice S3 (84 and 85 years) for $3-5k will get you in a GSL or GSL-SE if you shop around enough with under 100,000 miles and in good condition. Good luck with the hunt!

I picked this beauty up for 1000 and it has 121k and a 6port 12a. So I'm pretty sure you could get a heck of an FB even a pretty decent FC if you play your cards right. My only want for mine is a rear seat because my 2year old is obsessed with it and it's not exactly legal to have a car seat in the front seat. Anybody know where I can locate a rear 84-85 seat

I've been on a number of car forums but never one with so many people trying so hard to help me out and get back into an RX7. I vote this the best forum of all.
