OR Finally a rx7 owner

Hi Rx7 fans!

My name is David Tong, and I live in Oregon, US. I am currently going to school at Oregon University and my major is Mechanical Engineering. I graduate next spring. I have always been a Mazda fan. I remember years ago when I knew nothing about cars, one car sitting in a neighborhood dealer caught my eye LIKE NOTHING else has ever caught my attention, and I didn't even know what car that was! Years later I realized that was a beautiful blue Mazda RX8.

I am a proud owner of a 2003 Mazda 6s V6, bright yellow!!!! and I am driving to Portland to purchase a white 88 rx7 convertible this Sunday!! (2 days away). I just got back from the bank got $2200 cash in my wallet.

That being said, if any experienced Rx7 owner could give me some hints about what to look for/test for when test drive or just test out a rx7 that would be great. I like the price the owner is offering and made my reservation with him on Sunday, but I want to make sure everything is fine with the car but I am a rotary newbie and need help so I can get a decent car.

Thank you!! and I am so happy to be a part of this community!!

not really sure.. rotary is kinda the same as a normal engine.. check the plugs and every wire you can see!!! make sure nothing looks like its been jimmy rigged.. check the cap and rotor.. make sure they are in good condition.. and if you are deciding to drive long hours home with her.. make sure to buy new spark plugs and add some oil just to be on the safe side.. thats my advice. good luck
