Finally Introduction Time
Hey!
My name is Paul. I'm in the Bay Area in California. I joined back in 2003 when I bought a 1989 Vert. I've been reluctant to start posting as my schedule makes it difficult to be in frequent contact with the club. Constant contact is needed for community and unfortunately, I don't fit the model.
My goal for the car is to have a fun weekend driver. I don't plan on doing any major mods, however, when the time comes, I will change out components with "higher performance" models.
Thanks to all who participate in the forum. Information and advice has helped me through several repairs to the car;
- Engine rebuild; Front housing compression o-ring failed on the exhaust side. I bought a kit from Atkins. After alot of attention to detail, the engine started within 10 seconds of cranking, WOW! It pulls well, gets 20mpg, and passes smog.
- Wiper control relay
- Heater core
- Speakers, including headrest speakers
- Brakes, master cylinder
- Tokico Illumina struts
Next steps;
- Modify the radio for IPOD input
- Exhaust with header; cheapest power gain possible.
- Tighen up suspension; 138K tends to wear out bushing and bearings.
- New seats; Same story as suspension. Time wears things out...
Thanks again! See you on the boards.
