finally got first track car for W2W racing.
Hi Guys,My Name is Michael.
My buddy and I finally took the plunge and got a race legal 1979 rx7 to get our licenses and get our feet wet in the world of Wheel to wheel racing. I have lots of vehicles and am a quick study. My main car for track days has been a 1989 Corvette.
Glad to be here and anxious to learn what i can do to make this car even more reliable and just a little competitive if possible... i know its quick in the turns but id like to get the most out of that little engine to not get passed continuously every race.
Any ideas first off that would be legal for IT7 or spec rx7? I was thinking electric water pump, and cold air intake (but i doubt the intake would be legal so possibly some hood louvers to eliminate under hood temps for a colder intake.
Also any ideas about getting this thing started and warmed up easier? I have to use starter fluid every time, and I don't think it has a choke, just a really high idle...
